Phlox paniculata ‘Emerald Blue’ is a great, mat-forming groundcover for sunny sites. Best in the front of the garden bed, it creates a bright, colorful mat when flowering and a green, moss-like mat during the later months of the season.
This perennial likes well-drained soil and is great for rock gardens and site that require drought-tolerant plants. It’s also pretty when allowed to drape rock walls and hardscape surfaces that could use some softening lines.
No matter what variety of Phlox paniculata is chosen, this is a very easy plant to grow and will be at home at the front of any garden bed.
